After the Shock: Haiti Earthquake

On Saturday, August 14, the world awoke to the devastating news of an earthquake hitting the southern coast of Haiti. The next day, Samaritan’s Purse airlifted disaster response specialists and critical relief supplies to provide help to families in urgent need. Kristy talks with team members and beneficiaries on the ground to hear the latest updates.

On August 14, Haiti experienced a 7.2 magnitude earthquake—compounding more devastation to the already hurting country. In the weeks prior, Haiti was experiencing extreme turmoil with their president’s assassination and rising gang activity. In the hours after the earthquake, Samaritan’s Purse sent a Disaster Assistance Response Team (DART) along with 31 tons of relief supplies to provide immediate help. In this episode, Kristy connects with several DART members who are currently on the ground helping in Jesus’ Name.

In the News – Responding to the Afghanistan Crisis

With the chaos of the current events taking place in Afghanistan, Samaritan’s Purse is partnering with organizations on the ground to sponsor flights and bring people to safety. The ministry is deploying our Disaster Assistance Response Team to determine how we can meet urgent physical needs. Ordinary People Serving an Extraordinary God: Marigold

When ISIS invaded Sinjar in 2014, the Yazidi community was forced to leave everything behind and flee their homes—many not surviving the brutal attack. Marigold, who now oversees mental health initiatives for Samaritan’s Purse in Iraq, came out of retirement to walk alongside them in their suffering. In this special feature episode, Kristy hears how Marigold is offering care, compassion, and hope to the Yazidis as they begin to return home seven years later.
